Wholesale Parts Specialist

Job Overview: The Wholesale Parts Specialist will be responsible for managing and facilitating the sales of automotive or industry-related parts to wholesale customers. This role requires expertise in parts identification, inventory management, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the parts industry and a passion for providing exceptional support to our wholesale clients.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional service to wholesale customers by addressing inquiries, processing orders, and offering product recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Initiate cold calls to generate new business opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
  • Follow-up with clients on open orders and backorders, ensuring timely communication and resolution.

Parts Management

  • Accurately identify and source parts using catalogs, online databases, and other resources.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring the availability of fast-moving parts and maintaining an organized stockroom.
  • Process incoming parts shipments and inspect for quality and accuracy.
  • Chase down backorders to limit downtime of vehicles and ensure customer satisfaction.

Sales and Order Processing

  • Prepare and process sales orders, invoices, and purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to meet sales targets and identify growth opportunities in the wholesale market.
  • Assist in pricing strategy and promotions for wholesale accounts.

Technical Assistance

  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding part specifications and compatibility.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and competitor offerings to provide informed recommendations.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory levels, and customer interactions.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory status, and customer feedback to present to management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in parts sales, wholesale distribution, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive or industry-specific parts and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
